Project Updates!

Some project updates!

Last week, I went to the Salvation Army to donate some things. While I was in the back loading area, I spied an oak pedestal table I loved. I asked how much it was and they told me I could have it for $2.99!

I painted it a rich regal purple from Glidden called Pure Purple. I needed two sample bottles at less than $2 each and had enough over to paint a chalkboard frame.

I also spied two dining chairs with loads of potential at the Salvation Army.  They had a very dated, homely fabric. I'll show before and after pics when I am done. Today I painted the chairs and tomorrow I will recover one of them with the fabric of a vintage tablecloth and the other with a Shabby Chic brand pillow sham I have cut up. For the paint, I found two "reject" colors on the end cap at Lowe's for half off.  Here they are:

Valspar Gray Expose -- this is actually looking more khaki or almost olive now, but is still a definite gray. I like it!

Valspar Pink Burst -- a deep, brighter fuchsia when applied to the wood. With the fabric, it will come out great!

Yesterday I also ordered tile online for the upstairs bathroom, as well as some other items:

From's Ace Hardware Outlet

Moen Towel Rings are just $3.60 each at Plumber Surplus on Amazon.

And we cannot forget the toilet paper holder, also from Moen at Amazon's Plumber Surplus

At Hobby Lobby yesterday, I found a pretty polka dotted door knob that I am going to use upstairs, too. We have a perfectly functional mirrored cabinet in the bathroom, but I am going to paint it and add this knob:

I should have *some* pictures tomorrow! Also tomorrow, a giveaway announcement!

LATE NOTE--Argh, hate the pink. It didn't dry like I thought it would and it's not what I wanted. Oh well! I adore how the gray turned out, though!
