Special Spotlight: 3rd Edition
I told you earlier this week about how more than 70 handmade artisans (just a day ago the number was just over 60) from across the country have been scammed by a small boutique in Springfield, Missouri. The state Attorney General's Office, USPS, and local authorities have been investigating. The scam has been covered on the television news channels and newspaper in that area over the past couple days as well.
I think what it so important to remember, though, is that handmade artisans create because they have a passion for it. I know I love making jewelry, wearing it, and hearing how a certain piece has brightened someone's day. We're not creating to get rich quick or because we have to do it. We love creating. So many talented artisans have been scammed. They may never get their money or their creations.
I want to spotlight their shops and their beautiful work:
It's supposed to get down into the negative temps again tomorrow night. Brrr! This hat from Pixiebell would keep me warm!
I love these unique children's tops from Live Poultry. I think my Nick and Ben will soon be getting some of these!
This giraffe from Zadyball would keep your wee one entertained for a while!
This diamond ring from Kristin Coffin is simply stunning. Enough said.
Such a lovely set of Valentine's Day cards from The Permanent Collection.
Christine Sharpe Crowe makes some of the most unique coasters around. The skeleton keys are my favorite!
I mentioned the other day how there was an abundance of deep green on the Red Carpet at the Golden Globes. This handmade top is on trend while exuding a unique vintage flair. I love it!

Noteify is a lovely paperie with all sorts of neat creations. I really like this tags. They'd look great on gifts wrapped in burlap or brown paper and are lots of fun.

Michael Phipps has created a great tribute to buying handmade with this shirt.
