In the decorating mood!
I told you before how I am planning to re-paint the kitchen. I've now had a full two weeks of "me time" since closing up shop and feel ready to start on things in the next few days.
I was going to do Robin's Egg Blue on the walls and white cabinets with glass knobs, but have had a little change in plans. I've already done the white cabinet thing and want to do something completely different...
I figured if I write this down here, I'll be more inclined to get going on things! I hope to show you the finished project by the end of next week.
I'm going to do Valspar Woodlawn Charm on the cabinets, then sand a bit and paint more with a stiff brush to give an aged effect. I have done this before on other furniture and it looks great.
Another product I have heard great things about is the Rust Oleum countertop paint. We've been planning to redo the countertops with a bronzey colored granite, but were going to do it in the spring. Before we spend the money, I am buying this (under $25 at Lowe's) to see how it works. No primer needed! My mom's cousin has used it with good results.
Tom and I put in a new floor 3 summers ago and the tiles are deep browns with an almost teal marble. The "Earth" countertop shade is what I am going to use. The counters in this kitchen have a fun vintage feel, but are white with grey and are just very old!

I bought these knobs and drawer pulls on eBay for under $35 for the whole kitchen!
The talented woman behind this blog kindly listed her paint color for the cabinets and I am using the same one.
