Frugal Fridays: A Heavenly Scented Home

Nick with my giant, delicious smelling box of tarts. Note: he wasn't helping me, he was actually trying to get the bubble wrap out so he and Ben could stomp on it.

The loot

Giant wickless candles. They smell divine. I wish I had a "scratch and sniff" feature for you!

I love all of these. Not s single dud in the bunch :)

I have raved about Candles from the Keeping Room before. The last time I ordered from eBay's leading candle guru was before Christmas. I gave some of Carol's tarts to friends and family and they all loved their scented delights.

I have been having issues with my allergies and stopped burning anything other than pure beeswax tarts for the last few months. In fact, the only scent I have been using regularly comes from a bowl of simmering vanilla beans, orange peels, and cinnamon sticks. My poor tart burners haven't seen any use lately.

Last week, though, I found some tarts from Carol while cleaning out a basket. I tried one again and had no issues.

I burned it three times (scent as "Keeping Room") before it faded and decided to place an order again.

Here is what I ordered:

Chunky Votive Candles (they come in glass holders, too, for $3.25 ea.):

Aloha Pineapple & Orange Juice
Mocha Cafe & Sweet Cupcake
Hot Orange Danish & Sweet Cupcake

Tart 6 Packs ($4.75 for 6 good-sized tarts):

Enlgish Lemon Curd
Pilgrim's Pie

Chunky Tarts (THREE ounces each for only $2)

Blackberry Jam Butter Cookies & Whipped Cream blend
Mac Apple & Creme Brulee Blend

4 ounce cuttable tart roll (only $2.95--and for FOUR ounces. WOW!):

Caramelized Apple Praline

Tart Sampler (Bakery assortment, $4.95 for 7)

7 assorted bakery-inspired tarts

I just ordered Wednesday and they arrived today via UPS. I am amazed at the size of my order. Carol's prices are quite afforadble. When you consider that you can burn her tarts for 2-3 days each, they really are an incredible value.

I'd like to tell you a bit about the assortment/sampler as well as the scent called Pilgrim's Pie.

Carol describes her Pilgrim's Pie scent as a "highly complex accord beginning with top notes of pumpkin and lemon; with middle notes of champagne, grapes, nutmeg, and smoked cinnamon and rounded out with base notes of vanilla, tea leaves, and hickory." It smells amazing!

I just opened my 7 tart assortment of bakery scents. Included in this bag: Caramelized Praline, Caramel Sticky Buns, Pumpkin Zucchini Bread, Berry Sugar Cookies, Coffee Cake & Spice, Banana Nut, and Country Bake Shop. They all smell delightful. You'll adore the shapes as well: bread, bundt, pies, etc.

The scent throw in every single I have purchased from Carol has been amazing! I cannot wait to try one this afternoon after we return from running errands. My only problem--Which scent to burn first?

Update: I am currently burning Coffee Cake & Spice. It is absolutely wonderful. As always, a fabulous transaction start to sweet-smelling finish.
