FOUND: A liquid foundation I adore!

My skin has been changing lately. It is in the best condition it has been in since my early 20s, but it is still dry at times.

My two favorite products to use as a "base" have been Everyday Minerals in Fawn and Smashbox Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer in Fair. The Sheer Focus is the best tinted moisturizer I have ever used. It is ideal for my skin for summer use. It is light, doesn't aggravate any oilies I may get in the humid months, and it is just wonderful for normal to combination skin types.

Everyday Minerals, as much as I adore it, has been a bit too drying lately. I usually wear Intensive. The Semi Matte is nice as well, but still dries me out a bit. The Original Glow is too shiny for my skin for daytime wear.

I have been searching for a liquid foundation free of parabens and propylene glycol. That's a pretty tall order when you look at the labels on most liquid foundations.

Finally, I have found a decent liquid foundation. It's great for those wanting a radiant look the skin, and some nourishment without it being an oily form of nourishment. It's also great for people who like that airbrushed look mineral makeup can give. This one even smells pretty good, with vanilla and chamomile in it.

My favorite foundation is Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals. I wear it in Bisque and have been using it for a couple of weeks now.

Here are the ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Glycerin, Carrageenan, Boron Nitride, Hyaluronic Acid, Algae, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Squalane, Phytonadione (Vitamin K), Coenzyme Q10 , Stearic Acid, Chamomile Extract, Willow Bark Extract, Calendula Extract, Vanilla Extract, Sweet Almond Extract, Aloe Leaf Extract, Agar. May Contain: Mica, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide

I really think this is the perfect balance for those who want to be able to wear a mineral foundation but for whatever reason just can't wear it and those who just prefer a liquid.

This applies beautifully and flawlessly. I apply this with my Eco Tools foundation brush. I dampen the brush slightly and it just glides right in. It's rare to find a liquid foundation, whether it be for $5.99 at Walmart or $50 in a department store, that actually contains good for your skin ingredients. I love that it contains hyaluronic acid and squalane--they help your skin retain moisture very well, and the gentle botanicals are soothing to the skin. Coenzyme Q10 packs an antioxidant punch as well.

When you first use this, do not panic. A liquidy, clear fluid will pump out. This is just aloe vera juice. I rub it between my fingers and put it on my neck or hands. The makeup will then pump right out.

I am really lucky this year--I found a perfect paraben-free mascara, my favorite tinted moisturizer, a great paraben-free lipstick without carmine and now a liquid foundation!

I will wear this one from late fall into the late spring. If you're looking for an easy to work with liquid foundation packed with skin-loving ingredients, Jane Iredale's Liquid Minerals should be put on your list of products to try.

You can find a local salon carrying the line by going to the Jane Iredale website, or go to Dermstore to buy it.
